Question GTX 1080 not displaying

I purchased a used gigabyte x570i aorus pro wifi off of amazon and i assumed it didnt work because i was getting no display and figured the pcie lane was broken. I returned it and purchased a different used one on hardwareswap and its giving me the same problem. Everything turns on fine, motherboard led’s, all system fan spins. The only problem is its not displaying on both motherboards. The gpu fans spin faintly and stop. I tried troubleshooting and used every other component except the x570i and it worked. But its unlikely that both motherboards have the same issue. Can it be a problem with the motherboard bios? Ive never heard of a problem like this and cant seem to find any solutions

Are you certain that motherboard supports the 1600?

(gotta go check now)

It is on the compatibility list but not sure if going past a certain BIOS update might have removed support. Did you find the BIOS version sticker or imprint on the mobo?

yeah, i had to flash my bios to F3. i finally am able to get to the bios. thanks
