Question gtx 1080 ti vs Minecraft shaders (40fps) ryzen 5 2600

I just purchased a gtx 1080 ti and I wanted to put it up against Minecraft. To my surprise, it ran horribly. I was getting 40 fps with simple shaders when people with worse graphics cards got 200fps 4k (I'm using 1080p). What is wrong with my computer? I mean its most likely the ryzen 5 2600 completely destroying fps but I didn't think it would be this bad.

2600 most likely isn't the problem here. Have you installed 1080ti drivers?
