Will my Alphacool waterblock that fit my Gigabyte 1080 TI Founders Edition, also fit the new Gigabyte 1080 TI Xtreme, I mean...do the two boards have the same layout???

Solution
It would appear to be a custom PCB having 12+2 power phases vs the 7 of the FE. So I would agree that it would not take a standard block.

If you didn't mind cooling the VRMs yourself, you could get a universal block.

You could also check and see if they re-used the PCB from the 980Ti, and then that cooler might fit.
