Hi
My current specs:

Operating System: Windows 10 Pro 64-bit
CPU: Intel Core i7 4790 @ 3.60GHz
RAM:16.0GB HYPERX 8GB 1G x 64-Bit DDR3-1866 (X2)
Motherboard:ASUS Z97-A
Graphics: ViewSonic VA2246 21.5" 1920x1080 / Nvidia GeForce GTX 750
PSU: thermaltake TR2-600W
CASE: Thermaltake Versa H23

I'm thinking on upgrade this buying part by part during this year. I want to buy the GTX1080 or 1070 first.
My current setup is compatible? or i need to upgrade more before installing the GTX?

Thanks.

Solution
I would definitely upgrade your Gpu first as still today your CPU is string. If you want to be running games at 1440p (this will also save you some money) go for the 1070 or if you want to be able to use a 144hz 1440p monitor I would advise a 1080 or maybe even a 1080ti if you want to go with ultrawide monitors. For 1080p gaming at 60hz I would advise a gtx 1060 or an Rx 480.
Your setup is fine. If you planning on staying at 1080p i would get gtx 1070 (or even 1060 if you dont mind dropping some settings to get stable 60fps). If you want to get 1440p 144hz+ monitor i would go with the gtx 1080 or even gtx 1080ti.

Will u upgrade your monitor? 1080p monitor for a 1070 or 1080 is just too overkill...I would consider buying a monitor of your choice then buying a gpu as resolution is an important part on picking your GPU
