I want to build a gaming pc. My budget is around 800. My build includes a ryzen 5 3600 cpu. I wanted to pair this cpu with a 1660 ti at first, Then I saw that the place that i'm buying from is also selling a AMD Radeon 5700 for the same price of 300 dollars. Which one should I purchase? Another question i have is that which motherboard is good for the ryzen 5 3600 cpu ? I was thinking about a GIGABYTE B450 AORUS Elite Gaming Motherboard, but pc partpicker says "Warning! Some AMD B450 chipset motherboards may need a BIOS update prior to using Matisse CPUs. Upgrading the BIOS may require a different CPU that is supported by older BIOS revisions". What does this mean, and what other motherboard should i get for the ryzen 3600?

I wanted to pair this cpu with a 1660 ti at first,
1660 Super. Better value, similar performance.

Then I saw that the place that i'm buying from is also selling a AMD Radeon 5700 for the same price of 300 dollars.
What's the EXACT model of this 5700?
All the reference models and a couple of the aftermarket ones are equipped with crappy coolers.

That one doesn't support Ryzen 3000 out of the box. It requires a bios update using an older 1000 or 2000 cpu. If you're lucky, you could receive a more recent mobo model that already has the updated bios - not that I'd want to take a chance with that.

what other motherboard should i get for the ryzen 3600?
X570: costs more, but you'll be able to 'plug and play' without having to deal with the bios update hassle.
-Asus Prime X570P
-Asus X570 TUF Gaming WIFI

B450:
-Any of Msi's MAX motherboards
-Models that specifically include a USB Bios Flashback feature

1660 Super. Better value, similar performance.

I searched up game data for both of these graphics cards and a majority of the time, the radeon comes out on top, sometimes with a more than 20 frames more. This is the video i saw

. I think worded it wrong, but the place I am buying from have both graphics cards listed at 300 dollars. Is the 1660 ti still worth it if they are the same price?

https://www.bestbuy.com/site/xfx-dd...0-graphics-card-black/6389373.p?skuId=6389373 I'm forced into buying most of the components from bestbuy because I was given a 700 dollar giftcard from them years ago for a faulty prebuilt pc I bought from them.

How difficult is it to do a bios update and is the
MSI B450 TOMAHAWK MAX ATX AM4 Motherboard ok without a bios update. It's around the same price as the first motherboard that I listed. It says it the samething on the pcpartpicker page, but you and the youtuber i watched for some of the parts said this motherboard is very much compatible. Sorry for this weird text, I don't know how this happened. I also don't know how to quote properly so my reply's are also up top as well.

-Where I said 'better value, similar performance', I was comparing the 1660 Super to the 1660Ti, not the RX 5700.

Ohh, big no-no. That's just an XFX THICC without the chrome accents. The cooler is terrible on that card. Too much plastic nonsense covering it:

How difficult is it to do a bios update
Pretty easy.

-Back to my first post: any of Msi's MAX motherboards work out of the box with Ryzen 3000. Pcpartpicker isn't up to date on the matter.

Question. If I do buy the THIIIICCCCCCC graphics card, what will happen to it since it is so THIIIIC? It seems like it has better performance from the videos, but I assume that the gpu will have a much higher temperature. But why is that a problem? Is the motherboard actually titled THICC ??
Pretty easy.

Ok, i think that i'll purchase that motherboard. How do i check how many fan headers the gpu has before I purchase?

Ok thanks for helping. My last question for my build is how do i know how many fan headers there are on my computer build ? And should i go for this ram instead https://pcpartpicker.com/product/jB...-2-x-8-gb-ddr4-3600-memory-f4-3600c16d-16gvkc . Its like 7 dollars more but it says it faster. And should i switch my gpu to this one https://www.bestbuy.com/site/msi-me...0-graphics-card-black/6374967.p?skuId=6374967 . It's technically the same price as the game it comes with on download is 40 dollars.

That F4-3600C16D-16GVKC RAM kit is Not listed as compatible on the MSI compatibility list or by G.Skill.
Which is why I posted the link to the 3200 kit that is on your MB's QVL and G.Skills compatibility list.
That 3600 kit might not work at it's rated speed of 3600 on that motherboard, but the 3200 kit is guaranteed to run at 3200 by MSI and G.Skill.

As for the MSI 5700, I personally have an MSI GTX 1660 Ti Armor OC and an MSI RTX 2060 Super Armor OC and they both work very well for me.
So I would have no problem recommending that MSI 5700 Mech OC.
