GTX 260 or XFX HD 5770 1GB?

Hello,i am going to get a few new parts for my pc so i have trouble choosing a video card the trouble is

Does the XFX Ati radeon 5770HD 1GB? perform same as the GTX260?


the system i am building is


intel core i7 930 2.8ghz

Corsair Dominator 3X2GB 1600mhz memory tri channel whit the i7

INTEL ATX X58 LGA1366 FSB1600 DDR3 RAID

Coolermaster 620W PSU

and i cant decide the gtx 260 or the xfx hd 5770? no idea how they perform if compared,if any one could help me decide i would be thankfull.

Why do you want a card with a backplate again?

becouse there is a lot of dust on the videocard back which is open and it touches the core or whatever its called touches other parts which are open whit no backplate i have to clean it and it touches the core and other parts,my old 9800gt brake becouse of that this one im using is replaced 9800gt but after 2 weeks i heard a buzzing sound from it thats why i have to lower the speed to lowest.

To lazy to read the entire thread. Simply put both cards are about in the same performance class. Just get what ever is cheaper. =]

ATI is so much better than NVIDIA because you will se no LAG in ATI in BLOWING or GLASS BREAKING parts of games .... it not depends on card ...ATI is designed for GAME ... 5770 is lower than GTX 460 but ... why dont you go for 5850 or lower 5830 ?? they can beat GTX 460 ... after all NVIDIA is not for gaming ...wanna see fast actions IN GAMES with no laging ...do you want to see blowing parts smoothly ..only go for ATI

seems the core 216 is only the same in crysis,in other games its a bit faster...

why isnt there an option to choose the core 192 one?

That database has yet to include every card they have ever tested and I don't know if it ever will.

after i saw benchmarks i figured out that diffrence is too little { as i guessd & told you } so now i strongly recommand 5770 ..for your BUDGET.. 5770 can make your dreams come true ..GOOD LUCK

ATI is MUCH !!! more better for gaming ... NVIDIA is just power full but he doesnt payed a little attention to gamers needs ... so ATI does & he making very stronger CHIPS { has you problem like when you blow a car . IT lags & for a moment or in heavy condition like walking in crowd or GROUP FIGHTs with many blowings } ATI fixed it with his chips & any other thing like DX but NVIDIA doesnt ...so go for 5770

You forgot to mention the ATi Achilles heel, drivers and it's not much good having a card that doesn't have very good software to work with.

MANY hadnt problem by geting 5770 or 5850 { ATI CARDS } go see the YOUTUBE ...you will see a GTA IV or CRYSIS 2 clips which are MAXEDOUT on 5770 or 5830 or 5850 & they run great with no LAGS .. any one go for it so why ATI should not fix his drivers ??

Just have a read through some of the monthly "ATi drivers are out, post your experiences" type threads that been posted over the last couple of years to get a feel for how wonderful their drivers have been and still are.
