Hello,i am going to get a few new parts for my pc so i have trouble choosing a video card the trouble is

Does the XFX Ati radeon 5770HD 1GB? perform same as the GTX260?

the system i am building is

intel core i7 930 2.8ghz

Corsair Dominator 3X2GB 1600mhz memory tri channel whit the i7

INTEL ATX X58 LGA1366 FSB1600 DDR3 RAID

Coolermaster 620W PSU

and i cant decide the gtx 260 or the xfx hd 5770? no idea how they perform if compared,if any one could help me decide i would be thankfull.

Definitely go for the GTX 460. I just looked on that site you linked and the price difference compared to the HD5770 is actually significantly lower than in the US.
EVGA is a good brand but there are a lot of other good ones as well. If you will trust Gigiabyte with the most complex and important component of your computer than why not with a video card? The Gigabyte card with dual fans is getting very good reviews. The only GTX 460s I would pick over that one is the MSI Cyclone or Asus DirectCU.

i know they are great

the gtx460 there was one gigabyte one whit one fan thats the one im getting i think if i dont find the evga one i wont get the 2 fan ones they are gonna be noisy and i dont like gpus whit 2 fans i like em like the radeon hd5970 whit one fan or the gtx260 whit one fan.

i only like the gigabyte motherboard which i saw i also like intel one but since u say its bad for overclocking i will get the gigabyte one.

about videocards power supplies etc i dont want to go for gigabyte.

The Gigabyte card with two fans is both quiet and very effective. There are reviews of these cards you know, you can look them up.

i dont like big fans if gigabyte made em whit small fans like the gtx260 would be good and i dont understand why all of the 400 series cards have big fans? like really low end cards like this 9800gt has a big fan...

Are you listening to urself?? 🙁 :??:

GF100 is a grill chip, temp goes as high as 90C. Imagine what will happen if you OC. GF104 aka GTX460 is a lot better than the grill GF100, but it still needs adequate cooling.

i do not overclock videocards if i want an overclocked version i would probably buy a Black Editon.

I think it is about time to recognize that your brand preferences, desire for backplates, triple channel ram, small fans, ect; basically all your preconceived notions about computer components are not based on any actual knowledge of what is best when trying to assemble the best computer you can for the money you have to spend. We really do know what we are talking about. When we say what card or cooler is a better choice or that having 6gb of triple channel ram isn't nearly as important as a better video card we aren't trying to trick you. To be fair you have come around on a few things after excessive discussion of the topics but if you could try to accept our advice at face value by understanding that it comes from experience you lack and research you haven't done it would be a much smoother process.

+1

yes but i am talking about the small spinning fans not heatsinks i dont care how huge they are as long as i see whit my eyes that the gtx470s fans are small as the hd5770 series

Oh? Is that so? The heatsinks have nothing to do with cooling? Please....... :heink:

Take a look at the HD5800 stock fans, and the 9800GTX/GTX+ stock....

yes they have the heatinks are inside the vga or at the top like the gtx295 but im not interested on them im interested on the small fans only.

One of the main functions of vsync is to cap the fps at the refresh rate of your monitor. So you most likely have a 60hz monitor therefore vsync wont allow your framerate to go any higher than that. It also has a really annoying input-lag effect which makes aiming in fps games a lot harder.

So no amount of upgrading will make your fps go higher than 60 if vsync is enabled... you just have to disable it.
