Hello, I am sure that something is bottlenecking my new Gtx 460 1gb GPU. I get >20fps in GTA IV which is too low for this card....In Mafia 2 I get 21fps average which is also a bit too low compared to other gtx 460 owners...
Tbh I was getting 20fps in gta with my old 8600GT card

My system:
Windows 7, 32bit
GA-P35-DS3 motherboard
Intel Core 2 Duo e8400 @3.6GHz
Gigabyte gtx 460 1gb
DDR2 800 1gb x2
PSU- ATX 400W

Could it be my RAM or more like the CPU, even though I have OCed it?
Maybe it's my PSU that isn't providing the card with enough power?
Thanks.

Well, im using the latest GeForce 400 driver version 258.96
Also, i have read through many forums that say the CPU might be the issue but some say that e8400 OCed to 3.6GHz or higher shouldn't be a serious bottleneck.
Oh, and if I check the CPU/RAM/GPU usage while playing GTA IV it's like this:
CPU: 90%
RAM: 93%
GPU: up to 98%

yes, I have tried other games.
Resident Evil works just great, the benchmark says 90+fps
Crysis Warhead runs okay, like 30fps avg, just sometimes it's 15 with all the exploding stuff.
Batman batman arkham asylum works okay, the benchmark says 50fps avg

Hmm... it might be true but still, isn't >20fps a bit too low for gtx 460...?
Also, it's strange that GTA IV benchmark says 50fps avg while I get 20avg ingame

GTA IV has always sucked on a dual core and a quad is barely any better. Worse still the game is only threaded to use 4 cores max so you can forget a 6 core cpu or a dual socket xeon rig. Over all this game is mostly lag even on the newt boxes.

I seem to be getting low fps in theese games:
Gta IV >20fps ingame (benchmark says 50fps avg...)
Mafia 2 23fps avg (it's with physx: High)

But some games work just great, w/o any lags:
Just Cause 30+ fps all the time (everything maxed, 32x AA, vsync enabled)
Resident Evil 5 like 60fps all the time (everything maxed/vsync enabled)
Batman Arkham Asylum 50fps avg (everything maxed, physx: High) just 1sec lags when loading a new map or smthing
Crysis Warhead 30fps avg, it goes down when all the exploding happens etc (everything maxed)
Also, many older games seem to be working great.

So I'm wondering if anyone has the same problem (low fps in specific games)?
Oh, my GPU is running at stock speeds 715/1800

Thanks!

Not really... I use the option for Just Cause 2 only since it has built-in AA and as I mentioned I get solid 30+ fps w/o any lag.
I tried 16xO CSAA but it gave me only ~5fps more than 32xAA

yes, I have set every single setting in Just Cause video options On, should I change something?
EDIT. Just checked, bokeh effect doesn't change my fps.
Is it really my dual core @3.6GHz that is bottlenecking?

Maybe but having a Intel rig my self (spare rig check profile for specs) the 775 platform sucks bandwidth wise to the cpu. Really the FSB really sucks since it tops our around 4-5gbs vs that of AMD and 1156/1356 which can easily be around 20gbs+ (rough figure).

what about....
It says that GTX460 needs minimum 450W or greater power supply (with a minimum 12V current rating of 24A)

My PSU
ATX Switching Power Supply
Voltage 230V
Current 4A
Frequency 50HZ
Peak output 120W max

Could it be the PSU that bottlenecks or doesn't provide enough power to my system/GPU?
If I used the right calculations then it should not be the issue...
VxA(PF)=W
230 x 4 x 0.7 = 644W ?
EDIT: I Guess my calculations were wrong... lol

I just Found out I have 400W PSU...
Could it be my PSU that bottlenecks, does not provide my card with enough power?

My PSU:
ATX Switching Power Supply
Voltage 230V
Current 4A
Frequency 50HZ
Peak output 120W max

And I found out it's 400W (says on the bottom of my comp/case).

it's all I see...
