GTX 460 vs HD5770

I am looking to upgrade my graphics card.
Actually I just received ATI XFX HD5670 1GB from newegg,
but it wasn't as great as I expected.
So I am going to return this card and get a better card.

My specs are:
AMD Phenom II x4 955 3.2ghz
DDR3 4GB
Asrock Motherboard (ATI crossfire)
1TB 7200RPM HDD

EVGA 768-P3-1360-TR GeForce GTX 460 (Fermi)
768MB 192-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP
Ready SLI Support Video Card

vs

SAPPHIRE 100283-3L Radeon HD 5770 1GB 128-bit GDDR5
PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready CrossFireX Support Video Card

Comparing the price range, performance, capability, and
my motherboard having ATI crossfire,
which one do you think is better choice?
I am not looking forward to do crossfire in the future though.
Trying to fight with single card

I am going to mostly run many graphics work with this
such as 3D gaming like SC2, BFBC2, Crysis 2 and all.

Please help!

My PSU is 550 watts and my monitor is 22" with 1680 x 1050 resolution.
I was actually using HD4850 1GB before this. I was expecting an upgrade.
However, the performance was way slower than 4850 such as when I run
SC2, Crysis, and BFBC2. The graphics did look better but I could feel it's lagging and hesitating at some point 🙁

I think 550W should be plenty for other graphics card too.

A 5770 is almost twice as fast a 5670. Your 4850 is a pretty good card.
Heres a performance summary from a 5770 review, the 460 is not on there because it was not released yet. But it would be positioned between gtx 275/285 at stock clocks.
The 5770 is about 25% faster than your 4850.
I would go with the 768meg gtx 460- the price can't be beat right now.

Actually waiting for the HD6000 is also a good idea, though the GTX460s are pretty well price ATM.

the ATI 5670 is actually a performance downgrade from the ATI 4850. If you can power the ATI 4850, you should be able to power the GTX 460. Nvidia tends to do better then ATI on SC2. The ATI 5570 is roughly 15-20% better then the ATI 4850, not bad but not in the GTX 460 class. You can see various benchmarks here

edit: your OCZ 550w will power the GTX 460 with no issue.

I was going to stay with ATI, but I guess it's time to change once in a while

Yea, I knew 4850 is a great card, expecting an upgrade,
but instead 4850 reminded me how awesome it really is
