I consider getting these. what would be the best price/performance wise?
Res=1920*1080. Games= FPS not CRYsis. Some Blizz games in the future...
Brand= idk that's what im asking
I would personally choose the HD 5850 though, for its solid performance at 1920x1080. It's on my wishlist now for my next computer, and I am planning to play Star Craft II.
Only $289.99
At only $40 more I honestly believe a 5850 would be a better choice for more demanding games, at 1920x1080 even the GTX 465 would drive that pretty well.
If you are going to get the 5850 it's worth taking a look at the GTX 470, in nVidia's entire DX11 lineup (GTX 480, 470, 465) the 470 has the best value.
At only $10 more on Newegg.com it's a very good value. However it outputs more heat (in many cases a lot more heat) so you want a case with some good airflow, and a good PSU.
PS: You are seriously posting that a GTX 465 "might" unlock to a GTX 470 as a pro?
The 5850 is by far a better buy than the 465 in all aspects, you can compare a 465 to a 5830 not the 5850.
The only 465's that have voltage control are the MSI and Asus, you might as well get the MSI GTX 470 @ 299.99$ w/ free shipping + free game but hurry because this special will end soon. (thx to psycho for this finding!!)
WITHOUT A DOUBT that GTX 470 that OvrClkr mentioned is a much better buy than either of the other two. In my opinion the 470 is a better buy than the 5850 even at $50 more, and for the same price, it's not even a competition.

For 300.00$ it's a steal as long as the PSU is up to the task and you have some nice room temps. if not I would go with a 5850.

I agree that the GTX 470 is superior to the ATI 5850. But it requires more power and good airflow through the case. With the NewEgg deal on the MSI GTX 470 @ $299, I'd suggest the GTX 470 for pure performance.
But answering the OP's direction question, the ATI 5850 is easily the choice over the GTX 465.
Great brand, and great card for the user that is going to leave it alone or maybe mild OC. The reference version is actually better in terms of OC'ing.
