I have been having problems with my GTX 480 for a while and 2 days ago my whole screen artifact-ed and the whole system shut down so i turned it on and I was stuck in VGASAVE

now my question is will baking save me?
or am I having a different problem..?
I have baked GPU's before, my old 8800 and a friends 9800 and a few others always worked great
its just I've never seen a screen like that so was wondering
