GTX 580 "mini-hdmi"??

Okay, so i have been reading up on this GTX 580 and it's supposedly the single fastest gpu, this is great, but what i do not understand is that it says that it supports 2 dvi (i think) but more importantly it says "MINI HDMI" what in the world is mini hdmi? does that mean that my normal (or what i thought to be normal) hdmi wont work with this supposed mini hdmi?

You need a converter to run a regular cable.
But the 7970 comes out soon and is faster then the 580 for the same price. So do yourself a favor and wait for that to become available.

First, the GTX 580 is no more the single fastest gpu, it's the 7970... Mini hdmi is just a smaller kind of regular hdmi connector like there is usb and mini usb.

wow really? i havent even heard of this 7970? it's been tested? and when does it release?

okay, then finally, this is kinda a stupid question i guess, but why is it named the 7970 when the last model was (i believe) the 6990? why isnt it named the 7000? or something? i heard the naming (number) has something to do with the specs but idk.

it is because the 6000 series is out and the 7000 series is the new one so the 7970 replaces 6970 they will have all the same models with increased performance between 7000 and 7990
