So my previews motherboard broke so i grab the card and put it on an old pc running a quad core q8300 and 4gb ddr. I have been trying to play games like league of legends and diablo that i could max out with my previews build. I have notice the gpu performing a lot slower and after some test bottle-necking, overheating are not the issue, Could it be the motherboard only has a pci 1.0 slot and is dragging the card down?

Well it is bottlenecking. PCIe 1.0 has enough bandwidth for your card that's not the issue. It might be the motherboard's north/ south bridge that are slower and can't manage the whole system -> bottlenecking. It could be the CPU pulling the system down; it could be that you have a reaaaaaaly old HDD and its underperformance causes the whole system to receive data slower.

Bottom line: your older system is old enough to bottleneck your new GPU.

2007 is A LONG TIME AGO xD. Not much you can do about it. Bump up the RAM to 8 GB (will give you a ~ 10% performance increase) and start saving money for a new motherboard for your new PC.

well im just waiting for the new motherboard to arrive as it was still under warranty and i manage to get a new one. Just wanted to play something while i waited. Most likely this old motherboard cant keep up with the card and everything else.
