normally i would post this on the kepler sticky thread but since the the original thread has been closed by mod so i just make a new one 😛. just hoping if anyone can share any useful info about the topic
according to http://www.gpureview.com/show_cards.php?card1=670&card2= it comes out 8/7/12
well date aside (which indicate the card will launch in august) i think everything else are made up. first up they list the card will have 240GB/s bandwidth available to it but GTX680 only have 192GB/s based on the spec nvidia gives us. i don't think lower lower clock GK104 with lower memory clock (5Gbps vs 6Gbps) will yield higher memory bandwidth than what GTX680 have right now. plus they also mention the chip will be GK104 and still list shader clock as 1700mhz (double the core clock they predicted for this card) and we all know nvidia drop hot clock with kepler architecture.
cypherx :
660Ti comes out August 16th for $299 apparently, thats the latest news anyway.
that's the news i heard as well. either 16th or 19th of august.
Maxx_Power :
I 2nd that date. Also, there is a lot of debate on whether this will be a third trimming of the GK104, or it will be the fabled GK106.
some rumor suggested the Ti version of 660 will have similar SMX configuration as GTX670 but with lower clock, memory interface and VRAM. so far what the core clock will is still unknown (except the site from gpu review that linked above which suggesting it will be 850mhz fir the core) but they say the card will have 192 bit memory interface with 1.5GB (or 3GB) memory installed on it.
as for the non-Ti version it will be either more cut down version of GK104 (6 SMX maybe?) or it will be the based on GK106 that we almost didn't have any info on it. personally i don't think GK106 ever exist at all. my take is if the chip ever existed we must seeing more leaked info in regards to the chip right now. btw this is just my personal opinion so i don't have any source or links to backup this claim 😛
honestly i'm interested on what exactly are this GTS650. based on the rumoured spec it will have higher clock than GT640 and will be using GDDR5 memory instead of GDDR3 found in GT640. some leak bench also shows it will be around 44% faster than GT640. but what really caught my attention is despite being clock much higher and using more power hungry GDDR5 the raise in power consumption is only 5 watt! (65w vs 70w). this is the only part that hardly believable to me. but then again nvidia able to make GTX690 consumes for 300w despite being able to perform as fast as GTX680 in SLI.
Ok seems like the 660 none Ti will use GK104 with a 192-Bit memory interface and 1.5gb memory whereas the Ti will be 256-Bit with 2gb memory and be ~8% worse than a GTX 670 in terms of performance.
