GTX 660TI with a Core 2 Quad?

I was going to get a GTX 750TI but now looking at it i can also get a GTX660 TI for almost the same price would the GTX660TI work with a Q6600 @3.00GHz or a Q9650 @ 3.00Ghz

It will work. There will be a slight bottleneck on the CPU side. That would be true with any Core2 CPU even the Q9650.

Here is an article from a couple of years ago that may help you. It's comparing Ivy Bridge to the old Core2 line. The newest Haswell processors are about 10% faster clock for clock than Ivy was.

Linus took a q6600 with r9 290x the quad core was overcloked.. Not pretty but he got decent fps.
