Hi there, I am debating on to get the GTX 690 or the GTX Titan. I will be playing on a single monitor at 1920x1080 and hope to Max out Crysis 3. I read a lot of reviews between these two cards but I'm still unsure. Money is not a problems so it won't matter. Thanks :bounce: :D

to be fair, there is only one real situation where you would get either for 1 1080p monitor, and that is if that monitor is 3d(120hz, your gonna need all the fps you can)

You are absolutely correct good Sir, I am using 680 and along with i7 3930K 5.0GHz works like charm in Crysis 3. Ill wait till next Gen comes out before spending a grand on Titan, Titan really needs to be around $600 price range, its just marketting trick nVIDIA is playing on us.

Yes Titan needs to come down. It's price just doesn't make any sense where it sits on the performance spectrum. Sure it's a classy card and excels where previous Kepler cards fail but the price just doesn't dignify it.

Do not buy Titan. Titan is only for multimonitor setups!

The 690 is the higest end card you can get for your purpose.
Though I would advice instead SLI 7970

Do not get the 680! Get 660 TI Sli.
670 2gb is another good option.

Although I do agree, to go with crossfire 7970s, if you must stay nvidia, do SLI 670s. Perform slightly less than a 680, but cost way less.

A Titan is for if you want to SLI?
you mean if you go titan you must go with 2 titans?
-.-

If you can afford to think about buying titan than you can afford 2x7970s

Better to buy one strong card than two weaker even if they give better performance SLI and CF has too many drawbacks. All this stuttering and driver compatibility stuff is a nightmare. Still SLI works better than CF.

I dont not agree. There are not loads of problems with SLI as many belive, it works quit good.
On the net all you hear about are those with the problems not the 80% that it works good with.

If as you say, buy the strongest singel GPU that would be the 680 from nvidia and 7970 from amd.
As 690 is duel core and Titan is just a waist of money unless you got multimonitor setup.
And buying the strongest nvidia 680 is just dumb, as it costs a lot more than it taists.
The 670 or 7970 would be the best. And as he wants more power, not more vram from titan.
SLi CF would be the best choice.

So my question is - If You're not doing multi monitor setup why would You need anything more than well OC'ed 680 or 7970? Just to brag? Even in Crysis 3 this is ENOUGH to play at 1080p. This is pointless to waste so much money just to get 20 FPS more and have much higher TDP, oven inside a case and problems with drivers.

Come on - do You really think there is a point in doing SLI for 1080p? I'd say - if You have nothing against ATI, take 7970 from Asus (V2) or from Sapphire and this will be enough to suit your needs.

I never said that he would need anything more than a singel 7970 or 680.
But you made it sound like SLI CF was something utterly useless with tons of bugs, which it is not. Its works quit good.
Also the dude is looking for power other wise he wouldn't have consider'd the titan or 690 so thought i might want sli or cf. Why i dont know.

Cant say this enough never buy 680, get 670 if you must get nvidia.
In the end the 7970 is the best!
But dont buy the

No, my point was that if you want the best performance possible then rather then going with a dual GTX 690 setup, throw in a few Titans and that would perform better.

3 GTX Titans ran Crysis 3 at Ultra HD(5000*1920 or something)

Do not get teh 680!

People must learn that this card is robbery!
There is not a singel game that the 680 can run that the 670 cant run! So why would any one pay that much more for 1-3fps???

7970 best option
690 second best option
