I recently brought a used GTX 780Ti PNY OC edition from someone. He said it was fire damaged, and the back of the PCB had burns. However, I found that most of it was soot and just wiped away with some alcohol. However it doesn't seems to work. The fans and light turns on at full speed during boot, but nothing is displayed. Should I give up hope on it?

Hello... Start the Flash software, from a "BOOTABLE" USB2 drive... (you will be in DOS mode)... and it will tell you if the card is being read or not, using the proper "SWITCH" command or /help or /?... "diagnostics will look for all available hardware ID's reporting back"
Hello... 1) Try every video output on the card AND make sure your Monitor is set for that type of cable input.
2)TRY the proper hardware firmware flash to it... typically the BIO's correct version will be on a sticker on the back of the card... if not 'fire damaged'

you shouldn't have bought a fire damages chip unless you know how to diagnose and replace every part on the board you shouldn't buy a known broken gpu. honestly i would just stop trying now if you saw scorch marks on the pcb (even if you wiped them off) it probably killed every component in that area

I brought it because it was really cheap and had SOME hope. In any case if it doesn't work I can just add it to my GPU collection. :D

I didn't mean to select that as the best answer because I didn't even read it yet. Oh well.
