How long do you think I will be able to play modern triple A titles at 1080p, high to ultra setting and 60 fps?

I have a water cooled GTX 970 OC'd to 1537 and an Fx8320 OC'd to 4.4 ghz

For reference I can now play shadow of mordor with everything maxed out a t about 95 fps

If its like any other card over the years, than it will be 3 generations later. The GTX 770 (aka GTX 680 OC) cannot run Far Cry 4 on max settings. High is the best it can do.

So I would give it another 4 years at 1080p.

Your CPU is already holding you back. I can't imagine in 4 years how AMD will handle anything.

sounds good for the gpu, as I can afford to upgrade in less than 4 years I'm just not made of money. CPU wise I disagree as the Fx 8320 is doing awesome, especially for the price and is not bottlenecking my GPU at all. Plus, if i play my cards right I will soon be upgrading to skylake or zen.
