Hi everyone,

Just recently I've noticed a drop in performance w/ my GTX 970 MSI Twin Frozr V. My processor is an I5 4670K and the GPU power limit is 110%. I decided to do a few Novabench tests on my system and got between the 1700-1750 mark each time (I used to get around 1900-2000.) I then went on to do a Unigine benchmark an these are the results:

Unigine Valley Benchmark 1.0

FPS:
57.7
Score:
2413
Min FPS:
23.3
Max FPS:
109.7
System

Platform:
Windows 7 (build 7601, Service Pack 1) 64bit
CPU model:
Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-4670K CPU @ 3.40GHz (3399MHz) x4
GPU model:
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 970 9.18.13.4788 (4095MB) x1
Settings

Render:
Direct3D11
Mode:
1920x1080 8xAA fullscreen
Preset
Extreme HD

I just want your opinion on whether this is normal or a little low for the specifications that I have:

Feedback and help is greatly appreciated as always.

I have the same card and pretty close test wise mine is very slightly ahead of yours (in unigine) running the msi gaming app no actual gpu overclock besides that

Yeah I too have no Core or Memory overclock, but I use the card as it comes + MSI Afterburner for the 110% power limit w/ no voltage increase.
Just out of interest, what processor do you have?

Nice man! That may be why your machine benchmarks higher than mine because of the CPU being a slight upgrade and OC'ed. I would OC my I5 4670K to 4.4 but it'd be risky w/ only a 500W.

just bump it up as far as you can on the stock voltage if you have proper cooling and you haven't already that is
nevermind about the cooling just noticed the partpicker link ya that psu is not the greatest but if ya can squeeze a bit out at stock voltage it shouldn't be a problem

I can get it to 4.2 w/o any alterations since I use MSI one-click OC in the BIOS, but any higher and it BSOD's and I have to clear the CMOS. However even 4.2 pushes it. I bought the PSU off the fact that it would handle all my components at stock levels. I didn't really have any OC'ing intentions, so a new PSU (Probably 750W+) is next on the list!

i was originally going to go with a 600w but the 750 was on sale and actually cost less at the time and was fully modular and gold rated
