GTX 980 idle temps are bizarre now

Everything was going fine with mt GTX 980 just the other day, the idle temps were always from 27-31c. But the EVGA precision X kept asking me to update it so, I did, I upgraded to precision X 3.5.11 ( the latest one). Now for a while my idle temps went to a complete steady 35c. But just now its idling at a 60c. I actually rolled back to a previous Precision X, but that hasn't done anything.
I'm really confused and worried about my GPU now. Everything was fine until I updated to that new precision X. And I don't even know if that can cause an issue.

Edit: just as I finished typing this the idle temps went from 60 to 37. no idea whats happening.

try rmoving precision and install afterburner to look at temps.

i use speccy to see my temps. Speccy and precision X both say 35c at the moment

anybody know if there is something wrong here?

Edit: I seem to have solved this. Apparently K-Boost was enabled. My temps at idel are now back to 26-30c at idle.
