GTX780TI in SLI, r9 295x2, or r9 290 in Crossfire for 1440p?

Which of these will do better performance-wise on max settings on bf4 @1440p 144hz on the ASUS ROG swift monitor???

r9 295x2 because AMD cards tend to do better on higher resolution and it also support Mantle (which is compatible with BF4).

980 in SLI. It costs less than the 780ti, but performs slightly better. It would also give you access to Nvidia's new technologies that are only compatible with newer cards.

GTX 980 in SLi. It outperforms all the above options at a very low power draw so don't even bother about it anymore! Just get the two 980s ( Even a single would be enough, but since you can.)

The problem there is theres absolutely no watercooling support for them yet and thats probably going to take 1-2 months... im a very impatient person and am very excited to buy this computer so that doesnt work for me :/

You don't need water cooling for such cool GPUs, looks aside, you wouldn't gain much by reducing full load temps from 72C to 70C.

What is the monitor setup? You'd not gain much, at most 20-30%, from 3 way SLI.

I would say the 290 in crossfire or 780 ti sli (they are down in prices have seen as low as 429 brand new). My friend had a 295 and returned it because the drivers were horrendous for it and in games it preformed worse than a 290x. Mantle is an api in games such as bf4 thief and star citizen that require less cpu power and gives you about 5-10fps more on avg with the high end amd. From my experience with amd and nvidia i recommend nvidia because of driver issues I have dealt with using amd. Also sli scales better than crossfire.

Not really the point unfortunately... the watercooling is a staple of the build and mostly the reason im building this 😀 EDIT: monitor is the ROG swift 1440p monitor @144hz

2X SLI 970 would produce insane FPS on 2k. I'm not sure why you want to water cool unnecessarily on such cool GPUs, consider me style-less but its not worth the cost.

SLI 970 to compete with R9 290 CF or R9 295X2, SLI 980 to compete with 780 Ti SLI, and SLI 980 air cooled will be cooler than SLI 780 Ti water cooled. SLI 980 would be quieter than SLI 780 Ti too, due to awesome new fan designs by MSI or G1 or soon to be launched ACX 2.0

Is this only on bf4 and does it outperform all the other suggestions when enabled @1440p 144hz

It will do similar results on any game supported by Mantle. Do a quick google search and you will find what game are supported by Mantle and what are the new titles coming that will be supported by Mantle.

EKWB has it's wateblock on the way for EVGA's GTX 980. 2x980 watercooled will be one heck of a setup.
