Guess How Many JooJoos Have Been Sold

The not so noteworthy JooJoo totally slipped my mind. As has been stated on many forums it really is all about marketing. Maybe if they would have stuck to the origional pricing scheme it would have been more of a hit.

I must admit, i laughed when i read the title. The news however wasn't really that funny. Its sad to see the ipad sell so well when comparable, non restrictive products are doing so poorly, regardless of background. Good luck against even the most basic android guys!

[citation][nom]Cryogenic[/nom]This proves what? That only Apple can sell anything to it's fanatical fan base?[/citation]
No it proves that FG f'd up by jacking the price like they did. Hell I would by an iPad over this thing, and I hate apple.

See my profile picture and your wish will be granted.

I went to your profile for this! My needs have been sated!

Cryogenic, you are an idiot along with most of Tom's readers, who all seem to be Apple haters. Only thing worse than a fanboy, is a hater IMO.

Over 90% of people that own an iPhone or iPod don't own a Mac and will never own a Mac (me included, strictly a PC guy). So are you telling me that the countless millions of iPhones and Ipods sold were all bought by Apple fanatics? Are they buying 10 iPhones and 50 iPods each just to support Apple?

At $200, I wanted one.
At $300, i figured a netbook would do what i wanted, with a keyboard.
At $500 and after screwing over the community that designed the hardware and software, there is no way I will buy it.

I think of the iPad like an atari console. I WANT to be locked in to the Apple ecosystem to get all the functionality. A tablet would be useless (to me) if it was like my laptop.

The apps are what make this thing worthwhile. You Tom's tech heads are missing the bigger picture.

(I think )This thing is gonna be huge and everyone else is going to try and copy it. Other smart phones are already scrambling to make app stores.

Tom's reviews the product, not the idea...

I would venture a guess that if the JooJoo tablet, in it's exact form, function and price right now, was sold as an Apple product with a white logo on the back, the media would be all over it(giving it free advertisement) and it would be a booming success.

Poor marketing aside, the shenanigans that were going on with all parties involved with the JooJoo's development were enough to shy me away from this thing. Sad, at $200 it could have been a contender.
