Hello!

I'm a total noob to PSUs (didn't know the difference between AVR and PSU a year ago). SO my question is:

Can a Cooler Master GX 750 http://coolermaster.com/product_search.php?keywords=GX-750&x=34&y=8 power my build:
-i7 2600k at 4.5 GHz
-ASRock Z68 Extreme 4
-Two MSI GTX 560 Ti Twin Frozr II in SLI
-1 or 2 HDDs
-1 DVD drive

No, I don't have any of what I've mentioned. Its just my carefully layed out build.

What store are you buying from? Something like Newegg or newegg? I might be able to suggest a better psu for your build.

I am tempted to pick up one of these since it will be bundled with a HAF X and shave £10 off the price. I realise it won't be AS ggod as the TX or AX but will it suffice in powering an i7, 580 GTX and the full case?

So what would you recommend for a PSU? Have any opinions on XFX PSUs? There's a 'cheap' Silver80 one that seems rather good for the price. Supposedly made by Seasonic and sold under the XFX brand so surely it is a capable PSU.

Both jonnyguru and HW Secrets recommended against getting the model that ends in E3(Seventeam built), the GX series has significant issues with ripple above 50% load which can damage hardware. They are about the same price as units that are actually good which is quite disappointing as they are most certainly not good.

I havent seen any reviews of the new ones built by Enhance(ending in D3) but the fact that they didnt get sent out for reviews doesnt indicate that they made great improvement.

XFX,Corsair,Seasonic,and Antec are my top four but there are some other good ones.

How about NZXT? They are one of those brands I see around but no idea if they are quality or not.

It got a Golden Award from Hardware Secrets which is a good sign. Its a good unit, not a spectacular one but it also doesnt have the price tag of a spectacular one so its a fair pick. Its a safe pick if your options are limited.

I dont like it for the lack of Modularity.

First time builders should mostly take into account modularity due to its ease.

Some corsairs have great modular non sleeved psus that are easy to manage.
