so i watched a tutorial with a guy building a pc and in the board itself he installed a m.2 ssd now I dont plan on having an ssd just cause im on a tight 1 tb hd is enough for me with a 4tb external usb 3.0 budget but is it required for this board

Solution

All depends on your personal needs.
But a 250GB SSD for the OS and applications is eyeopening.

Of course, if you need that 4TB for whatever, then you need it.
ok aweosme few thats a releif i watched the tutorial and was like duuuuuuh whats dat :) gonna put a i7 6700k and gtx 1070 on this mobo not gonna oc :) thanks bro

What are some benefits to having an ssd along with a hd what about a external USB drive I'm gonna get a 4tb will that suffice as an ssd

An SSD is quieter, less vibration, less heat, everything that lives on it is way faster.
All the applications that live on it are faster.
AV scans, Office applications, image processing, etc, etc.

I'm not sure what you mean about the 4TB external, but that is not an SSD.
