Hi. I have a strange request because I have to use the top part of a 4K monitor that has a problem in the bottom part of the screen.

I need to customize my desktop resolution on a 16:9 monitor, as an half 32:9 monitor (ultrawide on a 16:9 4K monitor using half monitor).

I'm on windows 10, If I create a customize resolution from Nvidia Control Panel under Display settings and I set a 3840 x 1080 it works fine, but,
automaticaly the desktop is centerd by default with 2 black bands and I can't adjust the position.

There are two bands: one on the top and one on the bottom.

I would like to move the desktop on the top of the sceen because the bottom parts is broken.

I'd like to see ontly the black band only on the bottom.

Looking on the nvdia panel I saw also a tab called Adjust desktop size and position but I can't see the arrows that permits to move the position of the desktop.

How can I do that? Do I have to activate an option, or do I have to use a third party software ?

I'm using Nvidia GTX 1060 graphic card on Windows 10.

You can use KB to move the window upwards, so you can see the control buttons.

Edit:
If your Nvidia control panel is in full screen mode, you can make the window smaller (Restore), so you can move it upwards and see the controls. IF this is the reason why you can't see the controls (hidden under the broken part of the monitor screen).

If you go to the Size tab (right from Scaling), there, #2. is to resize the desktop, which check box to "Enable desktop resizing". And once checked, "Resizing.." button becomes active.

That should give you custom options for resizing.

I don't need to resize the screen in width or height but I need to move up the desktop and keep a black bar o the bottom.

That much i understood.

Monitor settings may include alignment of the screen. If not, things get more difficult.

One option is FanzyZones, where you create custom snapping area when in full screen mode resolution wise,

And to get taskbar out of the bottom, you can move it's location to the top of the screen.

You can try making a narrower resolution. Just have to be able to get your monitor to not re-scale it.
The screen Is automaticaly resized on the center of the screen. This Is the problem
