Half Life 2 and STEAM

okay i've heard a lot of different versions of what will happen...but am I to assume that my computer that does NOT have an internet connection will be unable to install Half Life 2 b/c of the lack of Steam connection!?!?

i think thats only if you want to play multiplayer. when the [-peep-] is the thing going to be out already!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! im getting pissed off!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

What about Lan parties??? Requiring internet connection would kill playing it at lanparties 🙁

Yeah, there would be no way Valve would ignore LAN gaming, being that HL/CS is one of the biggest LAN party games. Besides, pretty much any normal game that has multiplayer online support would have LAN support, with maybe a few exceptions.

Anxiously awaiting prescott....is it here yet?
 
yeah this whole steam idea is bad. the game is going to make so much money at $50 apiece they shouldn't be worried. It'll be like a 2gb install anyway so it would be hard to get a copy on P2P.

I hear it comes out in April, but I am imagine it will probably be pulled back more and more. Until we're all dead. :|
