Hamachi or regular server?

So the Minecraft 1.8 update is coming out soon, and it's going to be big. Me and my friend want to record some videos on the release, but we can't figure out how to run a server. It's just not working no matter what we do. So I was thinking, would Hamachi be a better alternative? Is it easier to host servers with Hamachi? Thanks in advance

I don't see what you're getting at..? Hamachi from my experience has been more of a LAN over the internet kind of thing.
