I can not find a good group for this topic, so it's here.
Even though the handtops (Ultra Mobile PCs) may seem gimmicky, I think it will address some major flaws with PPCs.
1.8" drives (internal and external), a screen big (detailed) enough to view a web-page, a browser better than Netscape 2.0, etc.
It's fustrating having a good media player and can only watch a few minutes of video on a SD card, vs. a HD MP3 player playing hours.
The PPCs seem useless when not connected to a phone.
It seems Microsoft is unwilling to make the PPC useable for anything more than running some office apps.
Handtops should fix all this. (too bad it's not a PPC)

So, the point to all this?
Is there any PPC player which has a 1.8" drive and a browser which can run DHTML, CSS , animated GIFs. etc ?
Thanks !

Ya,
Having a cell phone on a PPC helps a lot. The PPCs can also read PDF files and have good maping software, etc.
The WiFi can help get free Skype calls also :)
I was hoping to find a PPC with at least 15+ gig of storage, then it can be a serious all in one - MP3/video player.

Good link.
Interesting.
Still no 1.8" drive and I need to read more to check about the browser.
It looks like a step in the right direction though!

Here's another site that I think you might find interesting, with what I think is more along the lines you're looking for.

Props for keeping an open mind for this sort of thing, most people i've met are like "linux, fuck that" kind of attitude. Thanks for not shooting it down out of hand.
