Hard disc needs reformat but is nagging me to upgrade to Windows 10!

I need to reformat my sluggish hard drive which currently runs on Windows 7 but the system is nagging me to upgrade to Windows 10. There are two additional complications. I don't have original discs or boot-up disc and my right-click is disabled for some reason making it impossible to create a boot-up disc or USB as far as I can see.
I've backed up all my stuff. If I let the Windows 10 upgrade take place can I still do a full reformat?

I don't get the connection between upgrading and reformatting. Reformatting wipes your hard clean of everything. You can do that any time, but you'd better have a way to get Windows back after you do it. What you can do any time without having to format would be a CHKDSK.

You can let it download files but don't have to actually upgrade. Use these instructions to prepare ISO file of W10 as downloaded. =Installation%20and%20Setup]http://www.tenforums.com/tutorials/2570-esd-iso-create-bootable-iso-windows-10-esd-file.html?filter[2]=Installation%20and%20Setup

You can make install USB/DVD out of it and once you reformat disk use it to install W10 and keep it for future use as repair or install disk.
