hard disk copy problem

Hello sir,

Sir, my hard disk have a problem. While copying large files (greater than 500 mb) a single file like far,bin,ISP it copies 100 percent but while I am extracting the files it say file corrupt at certain percent. I can't even have large files... I need to repeat the process for many times to work but sometimes it doesn't work

What make and model is it? How old is it? Can you move it to another PC and try to extract files from there?

Hi there Vasudevan Devan,

I would advise you not to keep important data stored on the drive as well as back up the data that is already stored on it.

Also, I would advise you to test the drive with some HDD testing tool. Check these out: http://www.tomshardware.co.uk/forum/282651-32-best-diagnostic-testing-utility

It will not hurt to change cables as well as the port you are connecting the drive to.

Hitachi 500 GB HDD
I tried on other PC but same problem I bought at 2010.

Yes. It died two days. Before.
I bought new 1 HDD 1 tb but I have the same problem as I said before. Is that due to Sata cable problem or motherboard

The problem is that after these 5 years, the hard drive has probably died of it's own accord. All drives will eventually. You need to pay for data recovery or permanently lose the data. The drive will not work again.

Sir,
I changed to new hard disk two days before... Its segate. My old HDD Hitachi died just before sir.
