Can you help me to recover my laptop?Without the password the hdd is a paperweight.
I'm just attempting to determine the size of the brick the OP has. That lock is directly encrypted on the disk. Nothing you can do in the BIOS except changing the password but for that you need the old password.
I don't what is BIOS.Can you enter the bios or is it also password protected?
So what im going to do do? Can you please tell me what im going to do?That lock is directly encrypted on the disk. Nothing you can do in the BIOS except changing the password but for that you need the old password.

If there is a bios password the whole thing is a brick.Unless you replace the drive in that laptop it's a brick. Sorry about the bad news. I don't think you want to pay hundreds of dollars to send the drive to some specialized people who use specialized tools to fix stuff like this and this is if it can be done.
If there is a bios password the whole thing is a brick.
When you first turn it on there should be a splash screen(before the hdd password prompt) that you can press f2, f8 or del(most common keys) to enter the bios.I don't what is BIOS.
On the vast majority of systems the bios password is stored in nvram so removing the cmos battery won't touch it. I use a bios and hdd/ssd password on my laptop so if it is stolen its a worthless brick to the thief or the poor schmuck whom buys it.You're totally right. Even if the battery is removed for a few minutes?
