Hard Drive Capacity is not what it says it is

Recently my hard drive was corrupted, but i had my brothers repair disk and his system image and i re-installed windows from there. Everything worked fine, it had Microsoft Office, Adobe, Java, etc. But when i clicked computer the hard says 114 GB Free Of 148, while it should be 500 or 485 GB. This really annoys me because I am a game download loading freak (legally), i really need those extra 400 GBs please help me.

have you checked in the disk manager if the is unallocated space?

Maybe try format it?
