Hard drive crashed used recovery disk i says i have smaller HD

I couldnt put it in the topic but I bought a bigger hard drive when my Hard drive crapped out on me but i had a system image of it so i restored it with the image but its saying that i have 283gbs of total space instead of the 500gb that i bought anyone have an idea on how to get back the extra space i have ?

If your using Windows XP...

Control Panel > Administrative tools > Computer Management > Storage > Disk Management(Local)

and then see if you can somehow create a partition in unpartitioned space.

Might work.

thanks i didnt think of that before i created a new volume with it
