I don't know which hard drive to buy.I have an SSD for windows only and a hdd for non-gaming stuff. I want to buy a hard drive for gaming only and i don't which hard drive to choose. The 2 hard drives that i am thinking about are :
1) Western Digital Black 2TB capacity 7200 RPM 64MB Cache (model is WD2003FZEX)
2) Western Digital Blue 4TB capacity 5400 RPM 64MB Cache(model is WD40EZRZ)

They are around the same price range but I don't if the extra 1800 rpm is worth it . Plz help!
Thank you in advance!

EDIT : Maybe i should think of a different company? Like Seagate?

I had fallout 4 installed on my ssd and the red drive and during game you can tell a difference between the two. Loading the game from desktop takes about 10 seconds longer with the red drive. Gives me just enough time to get an extra scratch or two on my nether region before it starts 😛
Doesn't make that much of a difference, i'd totally get a WD Caviar Blue is the better choice here.
also are you sure you really need 4TBs? 2TBs should be good enough. But hey, if you got the money, go for it!

the price is the same of these two (in my country at least 😀 ). The extra 2 TBs might come in handy but i don't want my games to lag or anything cause of the low RPM . I heard that ROM make a big difference

I rock a WD red 6TB for all my games, tapping on the door of 2TB filled right now and thats missing WOW and SWOR that are installed on a secondary SSD.

It all comes down to how many games you have, how many you want to install, and how many you might get in the future. If you like me i keep all my games installed and any game i have on cd/dvd i ripped to an iso so i can mount the play disc to play the game.

I do believe it is just a standard red drive so its only 5400rpm

And u have no problems in gaming? I want to know if higher RPM make a big difference that's all.About capacity i only need like 1TB for my games (for now) .

The only difference you will notice is the game loading faster when you click the icon, or if the game has load screens during gaming. Other then that the HDD will keep up with anything else during games.

I really couldnt notice a difference when they were on a 7200 rpm drive and when i switched over to the 5400 rpm

Here is a link to the wd rainbow.

WD blue can be 5400 rpm which will have poor latency and is not recommended if performance matters.

What is your budget?

1tb ssd has massively come down in price; perhaps $300.
A ssd for gaming is not just for level loads.
A fast device is also good for fast checkpoints, game recording, and loading of graphics textures.
If you have the budget and care about performance, then a ssd is the way to go.
Samsung evo is the performance and reliability one to buy.

My budget is not that high, it is like 150 $ approx.

so in my case it all comes down to how much TBs i need right?
