Recently i've been experienceing some strange things with my computer. It will operate for 30 min then reboot. To track this down i removed all components and tested over and over with each one to see what was causeing the problem. I belive its my hard drive since i can use a boot disk and operate in DOS for as long as i want but when i let it boot off the hard drive it goes back to rebooting every 30 min. What i want to know is if this is a problem with the drive or if it may be a virus on the drive itself. (or possibly that win2k taxes the system more than DOS and it still may be another component causing the reboots) Any help would be greatly appriciated.

Thanks Kheldin

Sounds like a software problem, you could have a conflict with something, When that happens to me with Win98, I curse microsoft and reinstall win98, fixes the prob every time

Either you have a few glitches in Windows, or you have a problem in your system that only shows up in Windows. Hard drive sounds like it's fine. Reinstall windows and if you still have problems go from there.

Suicide is painless...........

Try formatting your drive and doing a clean install of Windows.
