Hard Drive Making sound

My hard disk is making sound and you can say this sound is just like A fan(the fan inside CPU) is running.But this sound is not continous some time this sound remains for 2 to 3 hours and some time silent.Whats the problem?

It's a sign your hard disk going to break down. Backup all your important documents and get yourself a new drive for standby or clone your current hard disk contents to the new drive!

It confirm my dard disk is going to breakdown b/c since i bought this hard disk(new not used) this sound is there i think last 3 years.
