Well that is a picture of a hard drive.

Those pins can have several purposes, but for the end user nothing really. At the factory they can be used as test points. In older IDE drives they were also used for setting master/slave or cable select relationships.

I meant hard drive, sorry. So if I don't plug anything into it, it will be fine?
