My mid 2012 macbook pro uses a HGST 1 TB HDD. One day, the drive started making weird noises. I opened it, and recorded.

Solution
If the drive isn't recognized the problem is on the PCB not inside, but by opening it you made any further troubleshooting or repair a waste of time.

Spinning or not opening it has ruined it. There is a reason they are assembled in a clean room and recovery companies use a clean room. Any spec of dust on the platters ruins the drive.

The data on that drive is not important. Even if the data is corrupted after opening, the HDD should still appear on my finder

I just wanted to see if the flickering was normal lol
