Computer A Is an Emachince . 1.6 ghz with a 250 gig HD Running vista
Computer B Dell inspiron 530s 2.8 ghz Dual 140 gig HD running vista also

Both systems have "recovery " HD's

I want to take from and ultimately swap both. Common sense tells me this is sounds to esy to be true. Is it possible?
Or do i have to F8 it once i install ? ....and restart from factory settings ( which i have no problem doing) Or i am i completley lost ?

Do you have windows cds and/or keys for either? If you don't mind losing your data, you should be able to switch the drives and just reinstall windows...

I notice the new trend lately is to sell you a computer, make you pay for windows, and not give you a windows disk. If thats the case, it's more difficult. Being a system builder I don't deal with that kind of nonsense.

Take HDD A but it in comp B use comp B recovery disk to reload.
Take HDD B but in comp A use Comp A disk to reload hope it doesn't expect a 250 or larger drive.

You need actual disks to do this not HDD recovery partitions
