i have been trying to play BF4 online but punkbuster keeps kicking me for slow connection speed...

i ran a speedtest both through my motherboards intergrated killer network manager and through speedtest. net on google chrome browser. both provided the same numbers. average of 4.30 D/L and 3.4 U/L.

i ran the same test on my smartphone that is on wireless and netted 12.6 D/L and 10.8 U/L....

the PC is hardwired straight to the modem
my smartphones are connected to the wireless router running from the modem.

i am using time warner cable and have their turbo connection package which is supposed to be a 30 MBs connection. i spoke with time warner on the phone and they could not get me any results... if i could get the computer to at least 10 mbps i could manage a BF4 connection!!!

hopefully someone here can help me as to why the hard line would run slower than wireless...

so now for the specs..
running bitdefender antivirus, tried disabling firewall, same results, running windows 8.1 with windows firewall disabled
using an MSI a88xm gaming motherboard with killer newtwork manager, (tried disabling killer, same results)

external router- netgear n600 dual band, 4 ports, running 2 smartphones wirelessly
ubee modem provided by timewarner.

if there is any other information that would assist in troubling shooting please let me know

The "Network Manager" software that is bundled with your mobo is a killer alright.....LOL. There are several of these programs out there, and all of them will create problems with the system. They analyze your networking usage, and based upon historical requests, reserve bandwidth for specific items - i.e. if you are copying a lot of files to and from computers across the network, it will reserve bandwidth for that....it remembers your most common activities - so if you are just starting a game - it has very low priority and same with speedtest.

I would recommend uninstalling it, rebooting your computer and running speedtest again. If you have 30MB connection, you should get that speed (or close to it) most of the time.....

Time to make you jealous....I live in Austin, TX with Time Warner Cable....we have 320Mbps down and 20Mbps up (same price as you pay).....

i wish i could get those speeds....

i looked through my software in the control panel and the killer network manager does not show up to be able to uninstall.....

yeah, i had origins and bf4 set to highest priority. i uninstalled it and restarted it, unfortunetly my ethernet driver is attached to the program, so by uninstalling it i lost connectivity.
