So I recently bought a PC from cyberpower, have had it for maybe 1-2 months now its been great, no issues.

Im running Windows 10, I notice missing icons missing their thumbnail on my desktop so I check my file explorer and my disk has completely gone missing.

My SSD C: drive is showing up fine however my 1TB Seagate Barracuda 7200RPM Sata 3 is gone and missing from file explorer.

I have tried going into disk manager and it is displaying as Unknown Device in both that and Device Manager, it will not let me initiliase it, Drivers are up to date on the HDD also, when I check the logs it says device not migrated.

I have uninstalled the device and it tried reinstalling but gave the same error. If the hdd is broken I am able to get a new one under warranty but does anyone have any ideas on why it has randomly dissapeared?

Solution
Use crystal disk info to check the smart data. the drive may be corrupted. if so you can try recovering the partition with testdisk or sending it off to a recovery specialist.
