Have I destroyed my SSD?

My computer used to boot in ~40 seconds. I wanted to get some more performance of it by enabled AHCI in the registry of Windows and in the BIOS. The end result was that my boot times skyrocketed. I reset the registry key to boot with an IDE driver and also cleared my CMOS to boot back into IDE mode. Now it stays at post for 40 seconds and Windows boots in a minute and a half.

What could be the problem?

Mobo: Gigabyte H61 USB3 B3
SSD: Corsair Nova 2 60GB

Enabling AHCI will lengthen boot time . Lots of extra divers to load , is the cause

Im unsure why you changed a registry key . Surely only the BIOS change would be necessary?

Windows needs ACHI drivers to work properly so he has to edit a registry key if ACHI was never installed in the first place.

The first 1-2 boots after BIOS changes can be a bit longer because of some BIOS detection (educated guess). What part of the boot takes longer?
