Have you replaced the PCB on a Western Digital HDD before?

Does the board include the data and power connectors? It's a WD Black 1TB HDD purchased in 2016 so firmware may be an issue.

I know about matching info on board to ensure compatibility but I'm wondering if it's as simple as removing the fasteners and replacing the board. It looks straight forward but looks...

I have broken the power connector tab off. The internals are still good and was only actually in use for a few months.

Any advice?

Yes, that´s the info:
WD1003FZEX - 00MK2A0

if you replace the board, you will have to look for the correct PCB number like:

If you have the correct board, like said, you will have to move the BIOS/Firmware chip to the new board.

Which exact model number is it?

Usually SATA drives need to move the BIOS chip from the defective board to the donor board. Otherwise the HDD won´t be detected or can´t read/write data.

a good source for informations about swapping and repairing is https://www.hdd-parts.com/

It's the one that starts with WD1003.

I think that has the info you asked for.

Hmm. Situation is unpleasant...There are services where printed circuit boards and you can find a solution to the problem there. There are a lot of them on the Internet, but pay attention to reviews.
