Hey guys, my HD 4890 is running extremely hot, and the fan speed never goes above 40% even when the temp rises above 67 degrees Celsius.

I've been manually adjusting the speed when I game in order to cool down the card, however I really would prefer to have software which automatically adjusted the speed. I have the latest drivers, and latest ATI catalyst control center, I would think it would control it better.

Any suggestion? Or any alternative software I can use?

what tool should I use to find this ?
hmm should I use GPU z
btw I am using 4830 rite now I will give GPU Info when i use 4890 on my new rig.

:)

I will soon post gpuid so that u can see if its overclocked and about driver I will install it on a fresh windows

and report the results.

Hi. I don't believe it's heat problem. I have the same card and it's running two monitors...one 19"@1280x1024 and a 24"@1920X1200...It can run The Sims2 on the 24 at full res with all graphic setting on the card and game at max, while on the 19" I have WIN-TV up and some monitoring applications up...the card didn't go pass 69degrees with the fan at about 50%...there wasn't a skip or stutter and everything ran nice and smooth...this card is a monster. The first thing I would check is your power supply, this thing likes the juice. Second make sure the rest of your system is up to par. If everything is good, then I would take the card in and have it checked. I'm not an expert, but that's what I would do.
