HD 7870 upgrade from HD 7750 on Athlon X2 250. Bottleneck or not?

hi so i just sold my 7750 and planning buying 7870 along with new psu..

my current processor is : Athllon x2 250
motherboard : zotac 6100 value AM2+

my question is will it be ok to run it with athlon x2 250 or should just i upgrade my cpu and with upgrading motherboard too

You're probably mostly ok with that configuration, but an upgrade would be a good choice. That old dual core at 3Ghz is a bit of a pig on newer games.

will it be lot of difference if i upgrade my cpu by buying fx 6300, like 10~15 fps more?

i dont want to end up buying everything that mean this is not an upgrade anymore if the difference are so slight
the games i try to play are gta v, witcher iii, ac unity

Yes, the FX-6300 would be an improvement, but more expensive than an Athlon X4. You can't use either of them with your current motherboard though. You would need an AM3+ motherboard. What country are you in?

hm it sucks to spend $200 more for new motherboard and cpu

would gladly do that if i could sell my cpu and motherboard, since i lost my package box it would be pain in butt to sell it

Because the hardware that's available is different in every country.

You would probably also need new RAM as well. Your system likely uses DDR2 while anything newer is going to need DDR3.

Good luck then. I think you'll probably be ok. There may some other CPUs you can upgrade to that will improve things for a much smaller investment than going with a new build but you'd have to look into that through a local shop probably. I'm pretty sure you can find a quad core around 3Ghz that will fit your board.
