I am also having the same problem. I knew something was going to happen 😛
Still took the risk and went forward to update the firmware and here I am with a bricked hd751LJ

I tried to re-use the dell's flasher but this time it didn't flash it anymore and returned the following output

"Internal error occurred"

I also tried using the F3.exe and this was the output
" this program isn't available for this drive"

but unfortunately I can't boot into a Linux. Have zero knowledge on Linux. If someone could point me how to download ISO and boot into Linux, then I could do some research with the fs.exe

Hello,

i had also the problem that i flashed an HD103UJ 1TB with the DELL Firmware - and my HD was one with the firmware 1AA01118 and after the flash it was dead.
Look to the thread http://forum.hddguru.com/viewtopic.php?f=22&t=30751 maybe this can repair your disk to.

I have also try some test and a found out, that it is possible to flash the "dead" drive with the command C:\SFLASH24 /RUN:F1_FW_17.EST /AUTOLOOP
My disk was not found for the first 3-5 minutes on the IDE port but after this time the hdd was found as HD751LJ and the SFLASH programm gives me the error "comand fail" - so i removed the power from the disk and connected again.
After this, the disk was found from the SFLASH tool and the firmware 1AA01118 is flashed to the PCB.
Crazy but it works - so maybe you can also repair with this method your drive, if you have the correct firmware.
