Question HDD 2.5" question CMR and SMR

For "read infrequently", no it is not really inferior.

But....as with the multiple previous questions...write once and put on the shelf for a decade is not a good solution.

Is 2.5" SMR HDD for writing and reading once or twice a year much inferior to CMR for retaining and archiving data?

This cmr/smr thing comes into play for disk that you will be writing to often.

If that's not the case then I doubt it makes a diff which way you go.
