After having finally upgrading to an AthlonXP CPU i decided to treat myself to a new hard drive as well. I eventually bought the Western Digital 100gb drive with the 8mb cache. The problem is that after partitioning and formating with XP using the CD as a boot disc, (windows xp loads on fine) the computer will not boot from the hard drive. Therefore i am unable to get back into windows.
My system is as follows (currently using minimum parts),
Athlon 1900+
Soyo Dragon+
512Mb (Generic, they do not sell branded memory here, honest!😛)
Creative Geoforce 2MX 32
Western Digital 100Gb hard drive.
Incidently using the above setup but with my old hard drive the computer will run without any problems.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

May have forgot to reset BIOS to boot from DD?
Possible to have forgot to make primary dos partion as "active".
If you boot with "older" DD can you access that 100gig ?
Just a few ideas out of the blue.

A little brown humanoid plus a case of probes with that sir?

Thankyou for the advice. I found the problem in the end. The Hdd refused to boot when set to master but had absolutely no problem on cs... Doh! I can not believe i was stuck for so long on that X_x
