I would like to make a post about something that happened to me and the solution. I had been using my hard drive to download games on but one time I couldn't find it. The simple solution is that for me I formatted the HDD with MSR the thing for legacy mode and that is for windows 10. When I changed to windows 11, I had to switch to UEFI mode, so my HDD wasnt detected anymore. What I had to do was plug in a windows 10 flash drive and go into bios and change it to legacy mode and boot from the flash drive. I pressed install now the windows 10 home then the next thing and when the page pops up to choose what to download with the partitions, do shift F10 then type in dont type the parenthesis they are just there to show you different commands. (diskpart) then type in (list disk) then find the one that is the HDD and type (select disk X) replace X with the HDD number. (Then type convert gpt) and if it says something that you cant convert just type (clean) this will completely wipe the HDD. Then type (convert gpt) and it should work. then type (create partition primary)
then do (format fs=ntfs quick) next (assign letter=X) X can be whatever. then type list disk and see if the HDD has an asterisk under GPT if it does then it works. If not try again. Now exit out of everything and take out the flash drive and go to bios. From there change it back to uefi and boot from your primary drive like your device with windows 11 not the HDD and it should show in your storage now. Hope this helps. PM with any questions.
