Hi all

i recently had a power cut while my system was installing an update, unfortunately this corrupted my o/s and i could not repair. i managed to do a clean install on to the same hdd and get the system up[ and running back to normal..

the following day i booted up the system for it to go straight into bios. i noticed no hdd was showing on the sata list so i tried the following.

rebooted the system
tried three more different Sata cables
tried 2 more Hdd
tried formatting the hdd through another system
i tried reinstalling windows to see if that would bring up any information

i tried all of this in different configurations with the sata ports and still noting was showing.

i assumed the power cut had some how damaged the motherboard or sata ports so i ordered a new one to try, i installed the new motherboard and im still having the same problem, even with a new sata cable too.

any advice or info on this would be much appreciated

many thanks

Do this,

Right click on windows start menu, left click on disk management and make sure the HD is being recognized by the system. Then if the hard drive shows but is inactive click on it and let windows create a new partition.

this is not possible as i cannot install or load windows onto the hdd.
